CONSTELLATION

The Exovision observing system consists of 30 satellites distributed in several orbital planes to offer global coverage and short revisit time. Satellite to satellite communication link allows using relay satellites in geostationary orbit, significantly increasing the system’s efficiency.

PLATFORM

Each of the 30 satellites are based on proven satellite platforms in the microsatellite class ( less than 100 kg mass ). They carry sophisticated payload instrument and other units like Large deployable fixed solar arrays, redundant batteries, thrusters, reaction wheels, gyroscopes and star trackers, X, S band and L band antennas.

PAYLOAD

The satellite platform carries advanced Microwave Sounder instrument with 30 channels for data acquisition. Some of the variables measured will be :-

  • Atmospheric Water Vapor
  • Atmospheric Temperature
  • Clouds
  • Tropical Cyclone Characteristics
  • Precipitation
  • Winds (3D winds derivation based on water vapor fields tracking)
